My Little Pony: Pony Life is an American–Irish 2D-animated series based on the My Little Pony franchise, serving as a successor/spin-off/reboot of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The series is produced by Allspark Animation (credited as Entertainment One) and Boulder Media. Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, Andrea Libman and Tabitha St Germain reprise the Mane 6 (Shannon Chan-Kent was taken over by Libman and Cathy Weseluck was taken over by St Germain).[1]
Unlike Friendship Is Magic, each episode is 11 minutes long, consisting of two five-minute segments (with the exception of the first six episodes focusing on Pinkie Pie auditioning for the Royal Jelly Juggernaut): every six episodes, a story arc is detailed for the Mane 6.
The series premiered in Canada on June 21, 2020 on Treehouse TV and in the US on November 7, 2020 on Discovery Family.[2] The series had a second season (that premiered on April 10, 2021).[3] The series ended on May 22, 2021.
"Pony Life relocates the ponies to Sugarcube Corner, a local bakery hangout run by Pinkie Pie, which also houses a mysterious cache of magical potions to be broken out when the need arises."[4]
On October 8, 2019, the My Little Pony Facebook and Instagram released a picture containing the new design of Spike that went mostly unnoticed, before the show's official announcement.
On November 13, a teaser announcing My Little Pony: Pony Life along with the new toyline was uploaded to the My Little Pony YouTube channel.[5] A press release was released that went into further detail about the series including five promotional images. It was confirmed on the same day by writer Whitney Ralls who the rest of the writer staff is.[6]
On January 25, 2020, stop motion shorts started appearing on the My Little Pony YouTube channel to promote the series.
On June 18, a trailer for the series was made public on YouTube, along with the show's theme song and character bios for the Mane 6 (sans Applejack).[7] On the same day, Boulder Media confirmed they were co-producing the show.[8]
On June 25, a "Meet Applejack" bio was finally published, along with a 30-second video about the Sugarcube Corner.
On September 17, ahead the series premiere in the US, the series was renewed for a second season, which is currently in production.[9]

Season 1 (2020)[]
On November 13, 2019, Pony Life was announced by Hasbro. The series released in the USA in November 2020. There are a total of 26 11-minute episodes,[10] each episode containing two 5-6 minute segments, with the first six episodes being two-part episodes.
The ponies help Pinkie Pie audition for a televised cooking competition called the Royal Jelly Juggernaut. When the rest of the Mane 6 are caught in a sticky situation, Pinkie Pie has to audition for the Royal Jelly Juggernaut all on her own.
Rainbow Dash's competitive spirit is put to the test when a new pony challenges her to a contest unlike any other. Rainbow Dash faces off against Dishwater Slog in loser-take-all race to finally prove which pony is truly the worst.
Applejack finds herself in the midst of an identity crisis when her signature hat becomes a city-wide fashion craze. Applejack joins a group of alternative ponies in the hopes finding a new style to replace her old look.
As Pinkie Pie practices for the Royal Jelly Juggernaut, Fluttershy makes an adorable new friend with a dark sense of humor. Fluttershy has to muster all of her cuteness to protect her friends from Bubbles' dark side.
Rarity tries to get rid of her bad luck before it can ruin her relationship with a new friend. As Rarity continues to deal with her bad luck, she receives some much-needed advice from an unexpected source: herself.
Pinkie Pie struggles to help out her friends while preparing for the final round of the Royal Jelly Juggernaut. As Pinkie Pie enters the final round of the Royal Jelly Juggernaut, the other ponies rally behind her.
The Mane 6 enter a cookie selling contest in the hopes of winning a celebrity meet-n-greet, but the high-pressure world of cookie sales has a way of changing ponies.
A mysterious stranger has been refilling the potion fridge in Sugarcube Corner and Twilight Sparkle won't rest until she finds out their true identity.
While on vacation at the potion ocean, Potion Nova warns the Mane 6 about the cute triangle an area located in the ocean that traps anypony who goes near it. Unfortunately the girls get stuck in the cute triangle when Applejack insists on spending time as a group.
Fluttershy is trying to help a caterpillar hatch from its cocoon but she's unsuccessful. Going to her friends for advice Fluttershy decides to mimic their behavior in hopes of hatching the cocoon.
Twilight Sparkle invites her friends over to her house to play a board game she made called Tails of Canterlot. However the girls finds the game to be boring and proceed to make their own rules for it.
Spike returns from film class and wishes to make a documentary on Sugarcube Corner. The Mane 6 are excited to be in a movie but they become nervous when on camera.
The ponies arrive at the Sportacular Spectacular and are excited to particpate in the events. But when Rainbow Dash becomes injured before a game of buckball, she asks Fluttershy to disguise herself as Rainbow Dash and take her place.
Touched by the girls friendship Bulk Biceps goes to reconnect with an old friend, leaving the girls in charge of hosting the closing ceremonies for the Sportacular Spectacular.
In hopes of becoming Equestria's newest pony news reporter, Fluttershy interviews the rest of the Mane 6 about the coming Cotton Candy Comet, but Pinkie Pie is too distracted to help.
My Little Pony: Pony Life was formerly scheduled to premiere in the United States on Discovery Family on June 13, 2020. However, it was then announced just a few days before that the series was postponed for a later date. The series was later announced to premiere on the channel on November 7, 2020. It was also suggested that in late 2020 it would be made available on YouTube.
In Canada, the show made its world premiere on Treehouse TV on June 21, 2020. In Australia and New Zealand, the series premiered on Boomerang on August 1, 2020. In France, the series premiered on Gulli on August 29, 2020. In Poland, the series premiered on MiniMini+ on September 7, 2020.
